Centinela Hospital Employee Named as Finalist in Los Angeles Business Journal's 2015 CIO Awards

Martin Cordova, Regional Director of Information Technology at Centinela Hospital Medical Center has been named a finalist in the 2015 Los Angeles Business Journal's CIO Awards. The CIO Award honors Chief Information Officers, or more broadly, those in the top information technology positions within their organizations. These important individuals and teams play vital roles in making Los Angeles businesses, institutions and nonprofit groups successful. Together with their CEOs, their decisions impact all aspects of the business including their company's growth, profitability, functionality and competitiveness in the marketplace. Linda Bradley, CEO of Centinela Hospital stated, "This is a great honor for Martin and everyone in the IT Department at Centinela Hospital. It's a testament to all of the hard work that he has put into the facility to make it a world class medical center."

Criteria by which Martin was rated included: How does he demonstrate a strong leadership focus and the cultivation of that skill through his/her team? How effective is he is at establishing strong ties with the company's business? And how does he promote creative thinking within the organization?

Martin's commitment to Centinela Hospital is unparalleled. He takes a hands-on leadership approach and conveys to his staff firsthand the type of experience that hospital patients, doctors, staff and visitors should expect from the IT Department. In this manner, he is able to understand and anticipate the needs of the departments that he serves and to supply them with the tools and training needed to provide superior patient care.

Martin has been instrumental in assisting Centinela to achieve numerous quality distinctions. Under his leadership, several programs have been instituted throughout the facility to promote effective communication with our patients, physicians, staff and community, Centinela is able to provide high quality healthcare that is accessible and affordable to our community members.

Martin will be honored along with the other finalists at an awards dinner on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the LA Hotel Downtown. He will be cheered on by a table of his co-workers at the event.
