Prime Healthcare Services is proud to announce that Centinela Hospital Medical Center (CHMC) has been named a 2012 100 Top Hospital award winner by the prestigious Thomson Reuters organization. The Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals® study uses objective research and independent public data to recognize the best U.S. hospitals. Hospitals do not apply and winners do not pay to market this honor.
Says Linda Bradley, CEO of Centinela Hospital Medical Center, "All our processes were meticulously analyzed and implemented with the patient as the focus philosophy. We believe that this provides superior clinical outcomes and more cost-effective protocols. We have placed an incredible amount of effort in raising the bar for what qualifies as the standard of care. Our physicians and staff do a fantastic job in meeting these expectations on a daily basis." She continues, "The dedication of our doctors, nurses and staff in providing top-of-the-line care to the Los Angeles community is evident with this recognition."
To be named to the 100 Top list, hospitals must score well as compared with others in their size/teaching-status category, based on a composite score of 14 measures of quality, efficiency, safety and patient satisfaction. They also must score at least at the median level for each of the measures. Data for the Thomson Reuters analysis came from a variety of sources, including Medicare cost reports, the Medicare Provider Analysis and Review (MedPAR) data, Hospital Compare, and Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) survey data.
"This prestigious recognition shows the commitment that our hospitals have toward the core values of quality health care and patient satisfaction," said Prem Reddy, MD, FACC, FCCP, Chairman, President and CEO of Prime Healthcare Services. "The physicians and staff at Centinela Hospital should be congratulated for their deep devotion to the highest standards in the country. By being ranked as one of the top 100 out of the nearly 3,000 U.S. hospitals surveyed by Thomson Reuters, Centinela Hospital has demonstrated that high-quality patient outcomes can be achieved while improving efficiency."
