Inglewood, CA, January 3, 2013 – Centinela Hospital has been approved by the California Department
of Health Services to begin accepting acute inpatient rehabilitation patients.
The hospital will be working with RehabCare, a leading provider of rehabilitation
services, to provide these services to the community. The unit will focus
on services to patients requiring intensive, short-term rehabilitation
care with an emphasis on the transition between hospital and home. Diagnoses
to be treated will include:
- Stroke / Cerebral vascular accident
- Traumatic and non-traumatic brain injury
- Multiple fractures related to trauma
- Complications from Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Other orthopedic disorders
- Lower extremity amputation
In order to access the services of the program, patients must meet the
following three eligibility criteria:
- Is the patient physically unable to return home, yet have the potential to do so?
- Does the patient require intensive rehabilitation to achieve the goal of
returning home?
- Does the patient have the potential to participate in three hours of therapy
per day, five to six days per week?
