Inglewood, CA, October 11, 2014 – A patient who was isolated at Centinela Hospital’s emergency
room after being transported from the Los Angeles International Airport
earlier this week has undergone all necessary testing consistent with
the Centers for Disease Control and Los Angeles County Department of Public
Health guidelines. The patient has been approved for discharge with no
further evaluation needed.
Says Linda Bradley, CEO of the hospital, “The patient who we were
informed had traveled recently from Liberia underwent numerous tests which
all came back negative.’’ Centinela Hospital worked closely
with CDC, DPH, the state Department of Public Health in taking all necessary
steps to ensure that patients, their families, staff, and the community
were protected during the evaluation of this patient. The hospital remains
fully open and continues to see patients.
