What is a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)?
Centinela Hospital's Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) is
a twelve-bed critical care unit for patients who have had open heart,
vascular and thoracic surgical procedures and require intensive monitoring
and nursing observation.
CVICU nursing staff is specially trained to manage surgical patients and
provide high quality care.
A majority of CVICU patients require short CVICU stays of less than 24
hours, after which most patients are transferred to the cardiac telemetry
unit for further monitoring.
