Why did you choose to practice Internal Medicine?
As an internist, our main focus is on adult patients, and the work feels akin to solving a puzzle. It excites me to engage my brain cells in finding the most accurate solutions and delivering the best possible care for my patients.
What attracted you to Centinela Hospital?
Centinela is a hub of development. What I mean is that, as a new program, our administration is committed to growing alongside us. From my perspective, it’s an exceptional place with a highly diverse population that presents numerous opportunities. I genuinely appreciate the positive atmosphere that surrounds us, and on top of that, it’s a dream to live in Los Angeles.
What are your future practice plans? Location?
I eagerly anticipate establishing roots in the community and continuing my practice.

Personally, I have a deep passion for the field of gastroenterology.

Whenever I have spare time, I thoroughly enjoy immersing myself in the local culture and experiencing diverse cuisines. Cooking acts as a significant stress reliever for me, and I find solace in going for short trail walks and hikes to unwind.
Why did you choose to practice Internal Medicine?
As an internist, you have to understand how all the different systems in a body work separately, and also how they work together. When faced with diagnosing and treating a patient- it’s like solving a puzzle with moving pieces and I like puzzles!
What attracted you to Centinela Hospital?
The community Centinela Hospital serves is what attracted to me to this program. There is a huge population of patients that are underserved, who generally don’t see doctors due to socio-economic reasons. So when they come to Centinela for treatment- they need care, health counseling and health education. I feel privileged to be able to provide these services to a community in need.
What are your future practice plans? Location?
I love inpatient medicine and have a passion for preventative care and health education. I hope to stay in this area, the weather is too good to leave!

I love animals! I have 3 dogs and 3 cats that moved to LA with me from the Midwest.

To further sharpen and broaden my medical knowledge. I also plan to impart my acquired knowledge and experience to younger generations and give back to the community. My experience in different healthcare settings has helped me realize that I have the determination, knowledge, mental strength, and compassion that will enable me to be a valuable member of the medical community.

CHMC providing health care to communities with diverse populations and considering international medical graduates for residency. In particular, program schedule is appealing about providing us with good mentorship to succeed in our professional goals and overall progress throughout the residency.

I chose Internal Medicine because it provides me with the best chance to improve my patient’s health amongst all specialties.

I love Centinela Hospital because of the diverse patient population it serves. Along with the challenges of delivering care to those who need it the most but have little or no access to it.

I plan on working as a Primary care provider in inpatient and outpatient setting.

I chose Internal Medicine as it provides you opportunity to learn from various medical conditions, different patient populations. Internal medicine also gives opportunity to train in different specialties which helps me get prepared to apply for a fellowship of my choice.

The rush from playing detective and unraveling mysteries, the excitement of solving a difficult case. Even so, the layers of complexity in even the commonplace diseases are what fuels my zeal for Internal medicine.

Why did you choose to practice Internal Medicine?
Internal Medicine is an all-encompassing subject associated with every minute detail of the human body. As a continuously growing and evolving field, internal medicine has reached new heights of understanding while opening doors for new opportunities and better learning. Piecing together every patient’s medical history, examination and diagnosis and finally arriving at a treatment strategy is like putting together pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. Figuring out how every piece fits to form the bigger picture gives me the same adrenaline rush I used to feel as a child finishing up a puzzle.

Why did you choose to practice Internal Medicine?
IM is the most interesting specialty according to my opinion where I feel I am in charge of the patient care through an interdisciplinary approach, where I get to see diverse cases .IM doctors are doing what most people imagine doctors to do each day. We speak to and examine patients, work through diagnostic dilemmas, consult with other physicians, counsel patients and their families, and literally use everything we learned in medical school.
